Presenter: NISHI, Takao (Collaborative Research Team of Intelligent Functions, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST))

Date and Time: December 16 (Tuesday), 13:00-14:45

Place: Room S-177

Abstract: In National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), a 3-D computer vision systems VVV (Versatile Volumetric Vision) that can be practically used for many purposes in many fields was developed so far. The software systems implement principal functions of 3-D vision as range sensing, shape representation, object recognition, and motion tracking, consistently and accurately in real time under various situations. In this seminar, technologies of VVV will be presented. In addition, applications of the 3D Vision technology to agricultural fields will be discussed.
